Craft Coffee at Stumptown
Location: Stumptown Coffee Roasters – 128 SW 3rd Ave
Your micro-adventure starts with a Portland classic. Stumptown’s downtown café is bright, lively, and full of the city’s creative energy. Grab your drink, find a seat, and ease into the day.
What to order: a latte with house espresso, a nitro cold brew, or whatever single-origin is on drip. Add a pastry if you’re hungry — the almond croissants are a great pick.
Time here: ~20–25 minutes

Waterfront Walk at Tom McCall Park
From Stumptown, it’s a short five-minute walk to the river. As the buildings open up, you’ll hit Tom McCall Waterfront Park — one of Portland’s most pleasant, easygoing walks.
Stroll south or north along the paved path. You’ll see runners, cyclists, and plenty of dogs, with bridges and skyline views the whole way. There are benches if you want to sit and sip what’s left of your coffee.
Time here: ~60 minutes at a relaxed pace

Bridge Views & Photo Stops
Continue along the path toward the Burnside Bridge area for some of the best skyline shots. This section of the walk gives you layered views of bridges, water, and city — very photogenic in the morning or late afternoon.
Pause at the Japanese American Historical Plaza for a quiet moment and more open vistas of the river and bridges. This is a great spot to grab a bench, people-watch, and just let the city move around you.
Time here: ~45–55 minutes depending on how often you stop
2:20 – 2:45 · Optional Stop
Optional Treat – Voodoo Doughnut D
If you’d like to end on something sweet, head a few blocks inland to Voodoo Doughnut (22 SW 3rd Ave, Portland, OR 97204). It’s an easy walk or a short scooter ride from the riverfront.
Their donuts are rich, inventive, and very Portland. Try the unique shapes for a good laughter.
Time here: ~15–20 minutes
2:45 – 3:00 · Stop 4
Final River Views & Wrap-Up
Loop back toward the waterfront for one last look at the water and bridges. If you’re here near sunset, the light can be especially beautiful reflecting off the river.
Find a bench, take a deep breath, and let the last few minutes land. When you’re ready, you’re just a short walk away from downtown, transit, or your next Portland plan.
